Business Development Manager (Engineering)

Reporting to:            Service Director
Summary:                   Working closely within the service department, this person will be responsible for establishing a Business Development Team looking after bespoke requests from new and existing clients, and helping to shape the service business strategy  in our London office.
 
         2. Job Description and responsibilities:      
①    Responsible for establishment of a Business Development Team for Service Engineering.
②    Ensure that an appraisal system is implemented for employees recruited into the team and to ensure training and career development is decided upon and delivered for employees recruited into the team
③    Responsible for developing a project plan which identifies a basic business framework, required resources, action items and appropriate schedules.
④    To implement and lead the business action plan, once formulated.
⑤    Ensure a high level of communication with head office regarding the direction and developments for the team.
⑥    Ensure that new market needs from sales teams are proactively received and followed up.
⑦    Responsible for composing tentative feasibility studies of new market needs
⑧    To perform internal and external negotiations and implementations as required by the demands of each new project.
⑨    Maintaining accurate and up to date project files of the department.
⑩    Manage and assist the process for the preparation of sales menus, quotations, PO’s and Invoices as appropriate.
⑪    To support the development of qualified vendors
⑫    Liaise internally with other departments (Engineering, After Sales, Procurement etc) to solve urgent customer requests as required
⑬    Management of the Business Development Engineering team, once this has been established
 
4. Requirements:
                                                              
①    Education: Engineering degree from four-year technical college or university and previous related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience with the energy generation sector. General knowledge in Gas Turbines is strongly preferred.
②    Strong knowledge in process related within the energy generation industry.
③    Fluency in business English
④    Computer knowledge and mastery of common software packages for office work
⑤    Knowledge/Skill: General knowledge of following areas is required.
·           Ideally some previous experience of working in maintenance, repair and troubleshooting in the Power industry
·           Technical awareness in power generation would be strongly preferred
·           Understanding of Project management
·           Commercial understanding of working for a large, multinational company is essential
 
Ideally we would also like to see experience of
·           6 Sigma Qualification
·           Prince 2
·           A knowledge of finance and logistics processes.
·           Working with a Japanese/ multinational environment
